Good News!

Image
The gospel about Jesus Christ is amazingly good news. Here it is, in brief: “I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3,4). You are a sinner “Christ died for our sins.” Though the idea of sin may be out of fashion today, its reality must be faced squarely. All of humanity has fallen short of God’s perfect standard, so you are laden with a very serious problem. “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person” (Mark 7:20-23).  This is a picture of your condition before the all-seeing God. You are morally filthy and unclean. Consequently, God is displ

Biex ifittxu jogħġbu ’l Alla u mhux lill-bnedmin. 3. Biex ikunu rġiel eżemplari tal-familja, iħobbu lil marthom, u jkunu missirijiet eċċellenti. 4. Biex ixandru l-Kelma sħiħa t’Alla bil-fedeltà, bl-unzjoni tal-Ispirtu, b’konvinzjoni u mħabba. 5. Biex ikollhom il-kuraġġ iwissu u jwiddbu, bis-sensittività u ħlewwa, meta meħtieġ. 6. Biex iżommu l-prijoritajiet xierqa: dedikati għall-Kelma u t-talb. 7. Baptism

Image
Having completed His redemptive work on earth, just before He returned to His Father, the Lord Jesus commissioned His disciples to proclaim the Gospel to all people, and to baptize new believers in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The rite is performed by immersing the disciple in water. Who should receive this rite? Christ commanded that “disciples” and those who “believe” should be baptized. Infant baptism was introduced gradually in the early church but there is no convincing evidence that it was practiced in the apostolic churches. All recorded baptisms in the New Testament follow personal conversion to Christ, as indicated by such words as believe, repent and calling on His name. Baptism is God’s sign to the new disciple of fellowship with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection, and of remission of sins. Baptism is a sign (symbol, picture) because it shows spiritual realities by means of physical elements and actions (immersion in water). That baptism is

Kif inħejji u nġib ruħi fil-laqgħa ta’ qima

Il-laqgħa ta’ qima tal-Ħadd hi l-quċċata tal-ġimgħa. L-aktar ħaġa sinifikanti li tista’ tagħmel matul ħajtek u fl-eternità hi din: li tiġi quddiem Alla ħaj u veru mal-poplu tiegħu biex tadurah u tirċievi mingħandu l-barkiet tal-grazzja tiegħu. Għalhekk konna msejħin: "Intom ġens maħtur, saċerdozju rjali, nazzjon qaddis, poplu miksub; biex ixxandru t-tifhir ta’ dak li sejħilkom mid-dlam għad-dawl tiegħu tal-għaġeb" ( 1 Pietru 2:9). Għalhekk ipprepara ruħek sewwa matul il-ġimgħa. Jekk tgħaddi ġimgħa sħiħa prattikament tgħix bħal ateist (għax tant inti mħabbat li m’għandek ebda ħin jew spazju għall-Mulej, it-talb u l-Iskrittura), allura qajla se jkollok il-ħeġġa biex il-Ħadd troddlu ħajr u tagħtih qima.  Imxi qrib mal-Mulej matul il-ġimgħa kollha. Jekk għandek xi tgħid ma ħuk, mur u fittex ir-rikonċiljazzjoni miegħu. L-istess fid-dar, ġib rispett lil martek/żewġek, altrimenti t-talb tiegħek ikun imfixkel. Aħseb mis-Sibt filgħaxija: idħol orqod f’ħin tajjeb. Filgħodu qum kmieni b

Maħtufin biex niltaqgħu ma' Sidna

Il-Kristjani kollha jħarsu ’l quddiem għat-tieni miġja ta’ Kristu. Aħna lkoll qed “nistennew dik it-tama mbierka u d-dehra glorjuża t’Alla l-kbir u s-Salvatur tagħna Ġesù Kristu” (Titus 2:13). Sidna Ġesù qiegħed iħejji post għalina; hu għad jerġa’ jiġi u jilqagħna għandu biex fejn ikun hu, inkunu aħna wkoll (ara Ġwanni 14:1-3). Fil-miġja tiegħu, il-Mulej se jqajjem l-Insara li jkunu laħqu mietu, u lilna li nkunu għadna ħajjin, Ġesù se jbiddel ġisimna f’wieħed immortali. Ilkoll flimkien ninħatfu u niltaqgħu ma’ Sidna fl-ajru u hekk inkunu dejjem mal-Mulej (1 Tessalonikin 4:13-18; 1 Korintin 15:50-58). Storikament, l-Insara kienu jqisu li l-ħatfa tal-knisja bħala parti mill-avvenimenti li se jseħħu fit-tieni miġja ta’ Kristu. Mar-ritorn ta’ Kristu se jkun hemm il-qawmien mill-mewt ta’ kulħadd, tajbin u ħżiena; il-ħatfa tal-knisja; il-ġudizzju finali; tmiem id-dinja, u l-ħolqien ta’ smewwiet u art ġodda. Madankollu, bl-influwenza ta’ John Nelson Darby (1800-1882), u oħrajn, illum ħafna In

Linji Gwida dwar il-Festi

Il-Knisja Evanġelika Trinità hi kommessa għall-prinċipju sola Scriptura, jiġifieri nemmnu l-Iskrittura biss bħala l-ogħla awtorità għalina. Speċifikament inżommu mal-prinċipju regolattiv tal-qima, ċoè, bħala miġemgħa miġbura jmissna nqimu lil Alla bħalma dderiġiena hu stess f’Kelmtu, filwaqt li neskludu kulma ma kmandax.  Konsegwentement, il-festi tradizzjonali, bħalma huma l-Milied u l-Għid, m’għandniex nosservawhom. Aktar minn hekk, fid-dawl tal-prinċipju regolattiv, kwalunkwe statwi, films, mima, żfin, recti u invenzjonijiet moderni oħra għandhom ikunu mwarrba totalment mill-qima li noffru lill-Mulej.  Issa, billi aħna ħielsa fi Kristu, u bħala nies imsejħa biex nagħtu xhieda tiegħu, m’għandniex norbtu lilna nfusna sat-tali estremità illi naħsbu li ma nistgħux nitkellmu jew nippritkaw jew nagħtu xhieda dwar Kristu rxoxtat għax jinzerta huwa jum l-Għid. Aħna obbligati nkunu xhieda tiegħu 365 jum fis-sena, bla ma nikkonsidraw x’jum hu jew mhux. L-istess japplika għall-Milied; jekk il-

Guidelines Regarding Feast-Days

Image
Trinity Evangelical Church is committed to sola Scriptura , and specifically to the regulative principle of worship, that is, as a gathered church we are to worship God as he has directed us in his Word and excluding all that is not commanded.  Consequently, all ecclesiastical traditional feasts (Christmas, Easter, etc.) are not to be observed. In addition, the light of the regulative principle, any statues, films, mime, dancing, dramatic skits and other modern inventions are to be rejected outright in the worship of God.  However, being free in Christ, and as people called to bear witness to him, we are not to bind ourselves to such an extreme that we cannot speak and preach and witness about the risen Christ because it happens to be Easter. We are bound to bear witness to him 365 days a year, irrespective of what day it happens to be. The same applies to Christmas; if it happens to be a Sunday on the 25th December, the topic of the church sermon might well be the incarnation of the S
